Hospice Cornwall

Hospice palliative care is “end-of-life” care; a combination of active and compassionate therapies that comfort and support patients and their families and caregiver in a homelike atmosphere, providing a peaceful and comfortable environment sustaining the physical, spiritual, emotional needs of each individual. When home is no longer possible, Hospice Cornwall will be there. Hospice Cornwall will be a freestanding building on 1.1 acres of land, located behind St. Matthew’s Evangelical Church on Second Street West at Riverdale. Hospice Cornwall services are totally non-denominational, free, and open to all people regardless of age, gender, race or religion. The Ontario Ministry of Health funds the operations, and the Cornwall community builds it. Become part of this community effort – make a donation. Cash, cheque, credit card – make a monthly donation or spread your gift over a five year period. Call Carefor at 613-932-3451 – because “It’s never too late to care”

Agape Centre - 'Local People Helping Local People'

Corus Entertainment works closely with the Agape Centre in their mission to reduce the impact of poverty in our community. The Agape Centre provides services in a dignified manner while encouraging personal responsibility. Programs such as the food bank, soup kitchen and Thrift Shoppe provide basic necessities to local families, while clinics and homework programs help with educational and health issues. Specials drives during the year help sustain an even flow of contributions, events like the back-to-school drive and the Christmas Baskets. Relying 100% on donations of time, food, money, clothing and other contributions from the community, the Agape Centre is coping with increasingly larger demands. This is an opportunity for you to help – become part of “local people helping local people” - cash, cheques, pre-arranged deductions from your bank account – all donations are greatly appreciated. Agape can be reached by phone at 938-9297, on site at 40 Fifth Street West, Cornwall, or log on to www.agapecentre.ca. “Local people helping local people”!
