Is it just me? Or has today’s music superstars injected a whole bunch of 90’s retro flashbacks into their music? 

New tunes on the charts make me reminisce about the clubby, dancey tunes that were at the forefront back then. I can remember those tracks with the crazy synthesizers and sounds that picked you up off your feet in that day and age, although it wasn’t that long ago. 

Look at master producer David Guetta’s collaboration with Usher “Without You”. How about that sweet interlude of fist-pumping on Rihanna’s latest tune with Calvin Harris “We Found Love”. Can’t forget DEV’s new song “In The Dark” that you can hear at night with Will Nash (weekdays 7pm-midnight). And what about the stuff that Katy Perry, Lady Gaga and Britney Spears are pumping out lately. I could go on for days. It’s all about upbeat, feel-good, get-on-your-feet music. 

I have no issue with the 90’s coming back…it just brings back memories. And to me, that was the best decade of music. 

And a friendly reminder, listen for the hottest party tracks of the 80’s, 90’s and Today, on Studio 104 Saturday nights starting at 6PM. It runs all the way through Sunday at 2am, so there’s no shortage of fun.
